Storyline:

Martha is struck down by an apparent fatal Kryptonian disease. It leads Clark to the conclusion that Jor-El is cashing in on the bargain he made when he brought Clark back to life; to take the life of someone close to him. Clark seeks the assistance of Milton Fine who tells Clark that his father Jor-El was a dictator on Krypton and that a rebel, named General Zod, tried to stage a rebellion. Meanwhile, Lionel convinces Chloe to investigate Clark's Kryptonian professor, Milton Fine, in which his true nature is revealed.
