Don't listen to the 3D snobs, the 3D on this film is wonderful. My kids watched it in Thai while I listened to tunes on my I-Pod (because I can't speak Thai).

Judgment Night

Judgment Night
Muay Thai Giant aka Somtum is something of a novelty film, a Thai action movie that I suspect a lot of people are either going to love or think is the corniest thing ever. Personally, I got a kick out of this movie. It’s the first headlining vehicle for Nathan Jones, a guy that you’ve probably seen at least once if you’ve watched any action flick in the past 20 years. He’s the 6’11″ giant of a man who attacked Jackie Chan in his Australian apartment in “Police Story 4: First Strike”; rammed into Tony Jaa Juggernaut-style in “Tom Yum Goon”; and fought Jet Li in a wrestling ring in “Fearless.” Oh yeah, he was also quickly defeated by Brad Pitt in the opening scenes of “Troy,” but I’m pretty sure in a real fight Nathan Jones would turn Brad Pitt into glue paste.

Dynamite Warrior

Dynamite Warrior
I won’t beat around the bush with this review, Dynamite Warrior is another film where the action scenes save the movie. Dynamite Warrior is the story of a young man on a quest for vengeance against the man that killed his parents… sounds pretty unoriginal right? The fights are all wire-enhanced Muay-Thai, and everyone not struck with a blunt, wooden object, takes a knee or an elbow to the head or chest.

Hood of Horror
The animated introduction revolves around how Devon (voiced by Snoop Dogg) becomes a Hound Of Hell, in which he agreed to sell his soul to a demon named Liore (voiced by Hawthorne James) to bring back his dead sister (whom he may have accidentally killed). Liore grants him knowledge, strength, and the power to decide who goes to heaven or hell for an unspecified period of time. The animation is switched out showing Devon as a real person, as he narrates the stories.

The Red Canvas
Former child star and martial artist Ernie Reyes Jr. joins the crops of the Mixed Martial Arts fad with this action drama. However, unlike most of the recent MMA films that have churned out, this one nicely blends in straightforward drama with the action, in which Reyes Jr. uses more of his skills in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiujitsu rather than his trademark taekwondo skills.

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
Bridget Jones' Diary was an unexpected delight: a witty, enjoyable trifle that touched the heart while tickling the funny bone. Sadly, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason isn't anywhere close to being that good. This has the feel of a movie that exists exclusively because its predecessor was a financial success. On those rare occasions when The Edge of Reason isn't regurgitating material from Bridget Jones' Diary, it is taking ill-advised excursions into unfunny slapstick and sappy melodrama. Bridget Jones in a Thai prison? Who thought up that bit of absurdity?
