The show is literally different every time it appears on stage, and a look at the production in some detail will explain why it’s taking the world by storm.
About the Play
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a play that tells the story of six children who are basically social misfits. These adolescents have never been popular, but they are now on stage competing in the biggest spelling bee in the world.
The contestants are not only looking to fit into their world, but they’re also looking to stand out, and their competitiveness is only surpassed by the adults in the play who spurn them on to victory. These over-competitive adults present an interesting satirical commentary in and of themselves, and their style lends much to the overall comedic nature of the production.
What Makes the Musical Unique
The play introduces the audience to a cast of highly interesting characters. It also introduces every audience to four new characters. Are you confused? Allow us to explain, and then you’ll understand why you need to come to every performance fully prepared.
Before every show, four audience members are recruited to appear on the stage as guest spellers. These guest performers are chosen through a thorough due diligence process, including pre-show interviews and a series of questionnaires. These audience/impromptu cast members are in for a delightful experience, as several unexpected twists are taken with each performance.
Therefore, you will need to bone up on your spelling if you acquire The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tickets. If you’re so inclined, you just may wind up as part of the cast for the evening. No other big-time production offers the same level of wit and surprise, and the audience is literally part of every performance.
Roots of the Show
The show started as an informal production in the winter of 2004, and through a series of connections, William Finn was convinced to take this informal, local production to the “next level.” Finn has done this before with other shows, so the fact that the play was soon playing off-Broadway was no surprise.
What is a surprise is how every show plays out. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tickets are sure to provide you with a night to remember, so act now to see a growing theater legend live.
Crowded House Tickets - Australian Pop-rock Band Returns To The Stage In 2007
Crowded House tickets, for at least a decade, were some of the most sought-after concert tickets in the world, as the rock band that proudly represented Australia with their pop-rock style and chart-topping hits. After several years apart, the band is getting back together for another tour, and that’s got music fans excited all over the world. A look at the band’s history could help explain this high degree of anticipation.
Beginnings
The origins of the band began to come together in 1985 in Melbourne, Australia. The band was originally called “The Mullanes,” and they gained notice around Australia and New Zealand by banging around in local clubs and perfecting their fresh rock style. These live shows soon garnered them notice, and they signed a record deal and relocated to Los Angeles to get to work in the studio.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 1986, and unfortunately, Capital Records did not see a lot of potential with the release, so it didn’t get a lot of support or publicity. However, the band continued to tour aggressively, and their live style resulted in a loyal following. Crowded House tickets became a hot item, especially after their single “Don’t Dream It’s Over” was released and became an international hit.
Success
After a mildly successful follow-up release in 1988, Crowded House gained worldwide fame with their 1991 release, Woodface. The album climbed inside the Top Ten on the charts in both Australia and the UK, and set the stage for their subsequent releases to all enjoy significant commercial success.
The band continued to grow in stature, and their real acclaim came as a result of their intense and engaging live performance style. They have always toured relentlessly, and their fans even adopted a name for themselves. “Crowdies” could be seen at every stop on every one of their tours, and this fan base is what inspired the members to continue on within the industry.
Going Forward
On November 24, 1996, the band played a farewell concert on the steps of the Sydney Opera house, and the estimates for the size of that crowd range from 120,000 to 250,000. The band from there quietly went their separate ways, but years later, rumors began to surface that they were considering a reunion.
Those rumors proved true recently, as Crowded House will once again embark on a tour. It’s been over 10 years since their last foray onto the stage, which means that Crowdies everywhere will be lining up in anticipation of their shows. If you want to see this band, you’ll be one of millions who will use Crowded House tickets in the near future.
Tarzan Tickets - See The Lord Of The Jungle On Stage
Tarzan tickets have been available in many forms over the years, but the latest version of this legendary and timeless story is making big-time waves on the theatre scene. Tarzan is a story of love, acceptance, mystery, trials and tribulations, struggle and almost every other human condition, even though many of the characters in the story are not human. Below we’ll take a look at the story and the production history to see just why this play has become such a phenomenon.
History of the Story
The character of Tarzan first appeared in a book series written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and the first edition of this volume of stories was published in 1912. Over the next 50+ years, 24 different stories appeared on the scene, and the books were popular worldwide.
Over time, and directly as a result of the influence put forth by these books, several Tarzan stories were produced in different mediums. There were Tarzan radio programs, Tarzan cartoons for children, Tarzan television series and Tarzan movies. The stories were different in terms of their specific plots, but the main character, Tarzan, is always at the center of the action, and the theme of fantasy and man vs. beast is always present as well.
The story moved to Broadway on May 10, 2006, when it opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre to much success. The book for the play was formulated by David Henry Hwang, and the music for this production was written Grammy winner Phil Collins. Given demand for Tarzan tickets, the show continues to run today.
The Plot
The plot of the musical follows the story line in the latest Disney movie, and serves as more of an introduction/overview of Tarzan and his life. The setting is 1888 off the coast of Africa, where Tarzan is an infant and he and his parents escape a burning ship and build a simple life for themselves in the nearby jungle.
Soon afterwards, Tarzan’s parents are attacked and killed by a leopard named Sabor, but Tarzan is spared. An ape who lives in the area and has lost her own child to Sabor hears the child crying and investigates. She finds Tarzan and attempts to adopt him, and after some resistance is granted her wish.
Tarzan grows up with the apes and ultimately earns their respect. As he moves into adulthood, English explorers appear on the scene, and this is quite a revelation to Tarzan, who has thought of himself as an ape his whole life. Through much conflict, Tarzan ultimately becomes King of the Apes, and Jane, the beautiful female explorer, falls in love with him.
We’d tell you how the story ends, but you’d be much better off securing Tarzan tickets for yourself and seeing this timeless classic unfold before your eyes at the theater.
Jersey Boys Chicago Tickets - Rock And Roll Comes To The Stage
Jersey Boys Chicago tickets are going to be very difficult to find, as this growing theater phenomenon is as widely-seen a show as there is in the world today. The story incorporates struggle, intrigue and success and is an in-depth study of one of the most successful rock and roll bands of the 1960’s, the Four Seasons. Best of all, the plot is interspersed with some of the band’s biggest hits of that era. Below we’ll take a look at what this story is all about and how it came to be.
The Story
Jersey Boys is told in a documentary style, which is quite unique for a musical. It details the rise and struggle of the Four Seasons, which was a wildly-successful rock and roll band that consisted of members Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito. The documentary style is executed by each of the band members taking turns narrating the story, and the plot itself is supported by several of the band’s biggest chart-topping hits.
The band members each knew each other growing up in one of the tough areas of New Jersey, and they soon began to rehearse and sing together. Their sound was seen as quite innovative at the time, and eventually their genre became known as “doo wop.” Each of the band members and the band collectively dealt with many life struggles, and these trials and tribulations are described as the characters are developed.
Given their lack of funds, the band had to not only write, but also produce and perform their own music, and they had to promote their work independently for a time as well. However, their extreme diligence finally led to a record contract and dozens of chart-topping hits.
Production History
Jersey Boys Chicago tickets are available on the heels of highly-successful appearances in other venues. The show made its Broadway debut on November 6, 2005 at the August Wilson Theatre, and it was an instant smash hit. The show generated more than $400,000 in revenue at the box office the day after it opened.
Given the demand for tickets on Broadway, the producers decided to take the show on the road, which they did initially with an appearance in San Francisco in December of 2006. The show is now set for Chicago, and the anticipation is high for this production run.
Jersey Boys was also recognized by industry experts and followers, as it won four Tony Awards, including the biggest prize of all: Best Musical for 2006. If you want to see a show that’s part documentary, part drama and part rock and roll concert, Jersey Boys Chicago tickets will satisfy all of those desires with a night at the theater to remember.
Evanescence Tickets - Catch The Hottest New Band On The Music Scene
Evanescence tickets are not only a chance to see what many consider to be the hottest new band on the scene, but it’s also an opportunity to join a worldwide riddle. It seems that no one anywhere has had an easy time classifying this innovative act under one genre, and experts and fans alike have been trying for quite some time.
The band has been labeled as gothic rock, alternative rock, nu metal, piano rock, arena rock, wagnerian rock and just about any other type of rock imaginable. However, no one can agree exactly what they are, except that Evanescence tickets are guaranteed to provide fans with a memorable show. A look at their development may help provide you with an answer.
Band Beginnings
The band was founded in 1998 in Little Rock, Arkansas by lead singer and songwriter Amy Lee and former guitarist and songwriter Ben Moody after the two had met in a youth camp. It seems that Lee was playing the piano and Moody overheard her. The two got to talking, and they soon realized their shared passion for music.
They began to write music collectively, but there was one problem - they had no money to organize and promote any live shows. Therefore, they were left with sending out cheap demo tapes to local radio stations, and their songs got quite a bit of air time. Listeners quickly identified with their sound, and demand for live performances grew.
Making a Name
It wasn’t long before Evanescence was playing local clubs, and their ascension to stardom was meteoric. They released several EP’s and even endured some controversy in the ensuing years, which actually served them well, as they got noticed.
The band members are Christian, and they were originally thought of as a Christian rock band. However, the band disclaimed their status as a Christian rock band, which prompted Christian stores to pull their EP’s from their shelves. There was much confusion with the overall theme of their work, but that confusion remains to this day.
The band did wind up signing a major record deal, and their first big-time release, Fallen, which came out in 2003, shot up to the top of the charts. It spent 43 weeks in the Billboard Top Ten, sold over 14 million copies and went 6x platinum. However, it was after this release that Moody left the band in the middle of a European tour. The only explanation given was “creative differences,” but it was obvious to their followers that Moody and Lee were simply no longer getting along.
The band has since released two subsequent albums with much the same success, and they continue to tour relentlessly. If you’re in the mood to take in a band that the music industry can’t seem to affix a label to, Evanescence tickets are just what you’ve been looking for.
Edward Scissorhands Tickets - A Cult Film Classic Hits The Stage
Edward Scissorhands tickets are a chance to see a cult film classic live and in-person, and the play is garnering the same positive reviews as the original film. The story is unique in that it’s a modern-day fairy tale and fable, although the “vibe” given off by the production is one of a classic and timeless fantasy-driven story from a time long-past. Below is a closer look at the play and what you can expect with when you secure Edward Scissorhands tickets.
About the Story
The story of Edward Scissorhands is one of trial, turbulence, mystery and acceptance. The main character, Edward, was created by an eccentric inventor who died before he finished “building” Edward. As a result, Edward is left with two sets of scissors for hands, and given that his creator has passed on, Edward is forced to make his own way in the world.
Edward winds up in an almost mystical type of suburbia, as the tone in the play is much like the original movie, in that it’s dark and very gothic in nature, which belies the “perfect” suburban life that surrounds the mood. Edward is initially met with a lot of resistance from the townspeople, as most of them are afraid of this “freak.”
As it turns out, Edward is actually a sensitive, caring and gentle creature, and he wins the favor of a few people when they discover that he’s got a very kind heart. The rest of the story develops the characters and shows how Edward manages, by simply being himself, to win the townsfolk over after a series of potentially diabolical conflicts.
The message delivered is a timeless theme - never judge a book by its cover, and give everyone a chance, as you never know where you may find friendship and a beautiful soul. It’s a touching and sometimes-humorous play, and one that the whole family can appreciate.
Production History
The original story was written by Tim Burton and Caroline Thompson, and was released in movie theaters in 1990. The movie was highly-successful, and the original story is loosely-based on previous works that include Frankenstein, Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera, among others.
The current production is headed by Matthew Bourne, and he is well-known in theater circles for his works with such productions as Swan Lake and the Nutcracker. The play manages to capture the same eerie, surreal feel as the film, and Bourne is a master at setting the tone early for the audience.
Whether you saw the original movie or not, Edward Scissorhands tickets will treat the whole family to a night and a story to remember.

His name came from his father’s jazz band, which was called the “Prince Rogers Trio.” He was introduced to music early, but his family life as a child was a bit rocky. Prince’s parents separated and divorced, and Prince did not have a good relationship with his stepfather, ultimately running away from home as an early teen.
Prince moved in with his father for a brief time, and his father bought him his first guitar. However, he soon moved in with a neighborhood friend’s family and began to explore his musical talent and interests in junior high school. He joined his first band, Grand Central, and began to jam mostly with instrumental songs. Grand Central played in local clubs and at parties, and they soon morphed into a new name, Champagne, and started playing more traditional rock and roll music.
Career Beginnings
Through a series of connections, Prince produced a solo demo tape in 1976, and this demo was circulated among record producers. Ultimately, a bidding war ensued, and Prince finally signed a recording contract with Warner Bros., as it was the only label that offered Prince artistic control over his work.
Prince released his first two full-length albums in the late 1970’s, and neither was a commercial success. However, he continued to hone is style and put together is backup band, and his third release, Dirty Mind, got him some attention based on its unique sound and sexually-explicit lyrics. After another mildly successful release, Controversy, which came out in 1981, the stage was set for Prince to become a star.
A Star is Born
In 1982, Prince released 1999, an album that sold millions of copies and contained several successful singles. Prince was suddenly a name that was recognized around the world, and Prince tickets began to sell in a big way for his concerts, as he gained a reputation for his hot-and-bothered live performances. Purple Rain was responsible for the newfound genre of the “Minneapolis sound,” which was a very influential phenomenon.

Since the release of Purple Rain, Prince has remained busy. He has released 20 subsequent albums of varying styles, reinvented his own persona several times, and captured the intrigue of the world when he demanded that his name needed to be a symbol.

Billy Joel Tickets - See The Piano Man’s Return Live
If you’ve never used Billy Joel tickets, you’ve missed out on seeing a music legend live. Billy Joel has been filling venues and thrilling crowds with his unique style of classically-influenced music for more than 30 years, and he’s back on the road once again to the delight of millions of fans. Joel has lived a fascinating life, and a closer look at it may help explain how he ascended to the level of icon in the music world.
Early Life
William Martin “Billy” Joel was born on May 9, 1949, in the Bronx, New York, and he had a full-on New York City upbringing. Joel’s family history is one of trials and tribulations, as his father, Howard Joel, was a World War II holocaust survivor and his mother was from England. Ultimately, his parents divorced, and Joel’s father moved back to Europe afterwards.
Joel became fascinated with music at an early age, and his genre of choice was European classical. Even though he loved music, he was not happy at all that his mother forced him to take piano lessons. Despite his resistance, however, the piano skills Joel acquired during this time would serve him well in his career.
Joel’s interest in music also led to his being ostracized to an extent by his peers, as most of the children in his neighborhood were avid sports fans and participants. Joel’s pursuit of music led to several instances of being picked on and bullied, and Joel ultimately grew tired of this treatment. He decided to do something about it by taking up boxing, and enjoyed a successful amateur stint on the Golden Gloves circuit before breaking his nose during a fight and deciding to dedicate himself to music.
Musical Beginnings
As Joel began high school, he also began to put his musical talents on display. He joined his first band, The Echoes, at the age of 14, and three years later he moved on to The Hassles, and this band released two albums before disbanding in 1969. Joel’s next band was a duet with Hassles drummer Jon Small called Attila.
Attila released its debut album in 1970, but disbanded a few months later, and this created great distress for Joel. He fell into a deep depression, and even attempted suicide by ingesting furniture polish. He stayed in the hospital for months, and was ultimately released in 1971.
Upon his release, Joel decided to embark on a solo career. He signed his first recording contract later in 1971 and began to record and release albums. Although it took some time for his work to become a commercial success, his live act was already widely renowned, and Billy Joel tickets were a hot item immediately.
Period of Success
Joel released his first solo album, Cold Spring Harbor, in 1971, and it was a moderate success that gained air play on the radio. However, this only set the stage for his next release, which would instantly make him a legend. In 1973, Joel released Piano Man, and the album remains one of the most beloved and respected musical works in the world today. Since then, he has released more than two dozen additional works, and almost all of them sold over one million copies.
In all, he has sold over 100 million records, won six Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. He has also been married to super models like Christie Brinkley and continues to play his live acts as if he was in an intimate cocktail lounge.
All in all, Billy Joel tickets will expose you to an artist who knows all about struggle, failure and success, and every night with him is a night to remember.
The Moody Blues Tickets - Psychedelic Rock And Roll Returns To The Stage
The Moody Blues tickets are available once again, and this completely unique English rock and roll band has been taking the genre in new directions and influencing bands that have followed for more than 40 years. The Moody Blues were a distinct departure from the “normal” rock and roll styles of their time when they initially hit the scene, and their style continues to move into new directions to this day.
Band Beginnings
The band originally came together in Birmingham, England in the early 1960’s, and each of the original members had been playing in local bands without much more than regional success. Ultimately, each of the five original members grew together to form The Moody Blues and performed for the first time under their current moniker in their home town in 1964. Their name was derived from what was supposed to be a sponsorship from the local M&B brewery, even though that arrangement never came to fruition.
The Moody Blues continued to play local and regional clubs, and their intensely psychedelic style soon gathered a loyal following. It wasn’t long before The Moody Blues tickets became a very popular item, and this gained the notice of record companies in England.
Commercial Success
The band signed with Decca Records later that year, and their first two released singles hit the charts. However, it was their second single release, “Go Now,” which climbed all the way to the top of the UK charts and to number 10 in the United States. From there, the band’s name was known around the world, and they capitalized on this newfound fame by continuing to improvise and create a new style of rock and roll.
It was their 1967 release, Days of Future Passed, which really set their name in stone as true musical stars. This release contained two legendary singles, including “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon,” and these songs continue to be their most popular and recognizable releases to this day.
The band continued to tour aggressively, and in 1973, citing burnout, they decided to go their separate ways for a time. However, they finally got back together in 1977, and since then they have continued to expand their horizons, performing as part of musicals and in collaboration with several symphonies around the world.
If you’d like a night of mood-enhancing music, you need to secure The Moody Blues tickets and allow your spirit to be taken in directions you’ve never before experienced at a concert.
